The law is an ass

With global warming and human smuggling almost completely eradicated, lawmakers in Kentucky are considering passing a bill that would prevent minors (under 18yrs) from buying energy drinks.
In an effort to curb the epidemic of wanton and disgusting underage energy, State Rep Danny Ford (R-Mt Vernon) has introduced the bill because a student had a "bad experience" from it and his "heart beat rapidly". (In related news, puppy love is to be upgraded to a federal crime).
The bill defines an energy drink as “a carbonated beverage that exceeds a caffeine content of 71 milligrams per 12 oz. serving and contains taurine and glucuronolactone,” which would fail to include juice-based energy drinks, and energy drinks without taurine or glucuronolactone.
Bear in mind that most energy drinks are packaged in 8oz and 16oz and not 12oz. And some juice-based ones are actually carbonated.
It's a good thing that the cashiers at the convenience stores are not pimply faced morons because you can imagine the kind of confusion this can cause...oh...wait...
